The duo “Cape Sun” comprises of Marie McSweeney and Bob Thomas.
Marie has entertained audiences in Perth and regional Western Australia professionally for over 35 years. Marie resides in the Yallingup region and has joined up with one of her favourite guitarists from earlier bands Bob Thomas from Busselton, to arrange a repertoire of classic songs stretching from the very recent to well known classics from the past 3 decades.
Drawing on a lifetime of experience combining live cover and original music with her unique voice, Marie’s background as a professional lead singer with some of Perth’s leading bands of the 80s, 90,s provides for a lively performance of all ages.
Their performance includes songs from artists such as Australian Crawl, The Church, Paul Kelly, Matt Taylor and The Dingoes. overseas artists, America, Travelling Wilburys, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, George Ezra, Talking Heads and many other songs from well known artists.
As an awarded Western Australian singer, songwriter and musician, Marie has a proven track record of attracting audiences wherever she has performed. Some of the bands she has worked with as a support act includes, Cold Chisel, Skyhooks, Australian Crawl, John English and Split Enz.
Currently, Cape Sun are performing at various wineries and private functions in the south west.
