I am Gordon. My love lies with the ocean, and really just the outdoors in general. I call the beautiful area of Margaret River my home.
I previously studied wine making, and worked as a cellar hand squishing grapes and rolling barrels. Being able to work overseas in an old German cellar for 6 months, was a big highlight for me. My parents also loved me, as I had an endless supply of wine.
I then hung up my wine making boots, and spent three years completing my Advanced Diploma in Photography at the Central Institute of Technology in Perth. I now work for Seven West Media as the photographer for the Busselton Dunsborough Times and the Augusta Margaret River Times newspapers. I enjoy interacting and meeting new people daily. Shooting a variety of stories for the paper, allows me to keep a creative open mind.
I like to spend any spare moment I have, capturing special moments below the ocean’s surface, and portraying the ocean’s raw beauty from above. I can be found floating around some secluded beach with my camera, soaking up those epic morning colours.
My equipment of choice is Nikon. The first camera I picked up 12 years ago when I was a little fella, was a Nikon F55 and it never let me down. I now shoot with a D810 and a D4s with ED series lenses.
