Liam and Caitlin married in the layered gardens of Basildene Manor on a sun filled day in Spring. Caitlin tells us how their journey to be married began…
Liam planned a whole day while I was out of the house. I came home to find a series of notes throughout the house, telling me to be ready by 5:00pm as I was to be taken by a friend ‘somewhere’. We arrived at a gallery that Liam had filled with photos of us and letters he had written to me. Liam walked in to meet me, he was so nervous he could hardly ask me!
We wanted a small wedding with close family and friends and we’d always loved Basildene Manor and visiting Margaret River for mini holidays away. Before we were even engaged we had planned to marry at Basildene Manor in the gardens.
The moment I saw Liam’s face as I walked down the aisle was everything. He was teary-eyed and smiling and such a shining reminder of why I love him so much.
We were very minimal with what we wanted, sticking to a fairly vintage style. My bouquet included lavender from Mum & Dad’s garden, something significant since Mum had lavender in her wedding bouquet. The props we used for the ceremony were meaningful to us as well; my Great-Gran’s suitcases, a vintage camera gifted to me by a close friend, a little grass bunny to represent our two bunnies at home and Liam wore greyhound socks to represent our girl Doggo.
