A little story of a shared love of Margaret River and a home coming of sorts. Frances has been visiting the Margaret River region with her family since she was a little girl, Summer holiday’s were a regular fixture for the Carman family. While Garth was raised in Margaret River, attending the local high school and being a part of our growing community. When Frances met Garth, their shared love of the Margaret River region was what led them ‘home’. Garth proposed to Frances while horse riding at Chesters Flat, where the trails of dappled light provided the perfect setting for popping the question. Owned by family friends, Chesters Flat is both an equestrian farm and vineyard located on Rosa Brook Road.
Garth had arranged for the families to gather together for the weekend so once he’d popped the question, we could all celebrate together.
It was no wonder that Frances and Garth decided to make the Margaret River region their wedding destination, with the happy memories of their childhood and time together so far, and more to come in their future.
Their wedding at Swings & Roundabouts began with their ceremony, Rev. Ian Johnson, Parish Priest of Lady of the Cape Dunsborough who married Frances and Garth on a Summers afternoon, Frances taking her walk down the isle to music by Sig Beag Si Mor, played by musician, Tony Lane.
The celebrations to follow were styled with a relaxed rural vibe; long dining tables were set beneath festoon lighting and hundreds of bunting flags creating a beautiful scene overlooking the endless valley and vineyards beyond. As the night fell and celebrations continued, the band played and guests joined the wedding party on the dance floor for a bit of folk dancing, resulting in celebration that was perfectly ‘Frankie + Garth’.
