My name is Shane George and starting Margaret River Classic Holden’s has been a labour of love. Inspired by the joy and connection old cars bring (and my wife’s suggestion that all of the cars in the shed could earn their keep)! Having shared them for many weddings and special occasions in the local area with family and friends over the past decade, I have gained an understanding of what is required. Having lived and worked in Margaret River for over two decades I have a good connection with locals and the area. The vehicles are now being offered for private charters, weddings, birthdays, photo opportunities and more.
My passion for cars started when I was young and watched my dad, a mechanic and boilermaker, restore old cars in the backyard. Since then I have done my share of restorations, many have been sold to start the next project. I now have a collection of four Holden’s. Two are available for use and two are in progress, due to be finished late 2021.
HK Brougham sedan 1968 This vehicle is the pride of the fleet. I can proudly tell that all three of my children were first bought home in a HK Brougham so it holds a special place in my heart!
HR Holden wagon 1969 In original condition with blue/white exterior, this vehicle has been the perfect ‘something blue’ for many brides. The classic and understated look is always a crowd pleaser. The HR also has the claim to fame of having appeared in the movie ‘Drift’.
